Parent Advisory Council (PAC)

The PAC is group of volunteer parents governed by a Board of Officers who individually and collectively contribute their time and effort to benefit the children of the Trahan School. This is accomplished by supporting and enriching the educational goals of the school through PAC sponsored programs and PAC approved purchases of educational materials. The PAC also allows all interested people to become actively involved and express their ideas and suggestions.

Meetings are held monthly and are announced in advance with an agenda. There are often time guest speakers and/or special presentations.

The Board positions consist of two Co-Chairs, Secretary, Treasurer, two Fundraising Co-Chairs, Art Enrichment, two Playground, two Publicity, and one Hospitality as well as a Teacher Representative. Nominations are held each April and elections are done in May.

New officers take office the first meeting in September.

The PAC sponsors several fundraisers throughout the year. Monies raised are used to provide cultural and educational programs, guest authors, field trips, and to help make school just a little more "fun" for the students. The PAC is also involved and supportive of the local community through its support of common educational goals and the awarding of scholarships to former Trahan students.

PAC offers our school community with many enjoyable and enriching activities. The PAC also has many family get togethers. These activities may include skating parties, holiday story nights and after school enrichment programs.

Many of these are possible only through the hard work of our parents. Everyone is encouraged to join the PAC and participate in the programs and activities that benefit the students at the Louise Davy Trahan School.
