North Street PAC Meeting Minutes

Treasurer

PAC savings account has been established. This will allow the PAC to earn a bit of interest over the summer when the funds are not in use.

Fundraising

We will be planning a Burger King night soon; some other ideas are Applebee’s, Chuck E Cheese, Papa Ginos & McDonalds.

Co-Chairs

A new sound system has been purchased. The cost was $1179.00 and was purchased at Tewksbury Music.

Rhonda Boudreau has contacted Shawsheen Tech about risers; they need a letter stating an educational benefit.

Pennies for Patients – We will start collecting pennies after Feb. school vacation. Josie will head this up. Reminders will be sent home soon.

We will not be doing an ice skating night this year.

March 2nd is North Street School night at the Lowell Devils. Bridget is heading this up.

Family Reading night is scheduled for March 14th, Ellen is still looking into readers.

Sum-It – We have 101 students signed up.

MCAS – Dates run from March 25th through April 3rd Ellen will once again be ordering bagels from the cafeteria for all 3rd & 4th grade students

Teachers

The school library is looking for money to purchase books.

Principal

We have started homework charting. Teachers will be charting homework and classes with the highest % will receive a reward.

PAC newsletter is now only available online. If a parent would like a paper copy they will be made available.

We had 51 parent school council surveys completed.

We would like to hold a few after school programs, we would need parent volunteers to make this happen.

School Council

Goals have been developed.

Arts & Enrichment

Michael Glaser will be visiting 1st grade on Monday March 17th.

Martha Dana puppets will be coming to kindergarten and Michelle’s Menagerie will be visiting 2nd grade. Plans are in the works for a school wide program.

SPED

March 5th, State Reps Micelli, Tucker and Finegold will be at Tewksbury Memorial H.S. library to talk about the possibility of the state picking up some of the costs of special ed.

March 10th, PAC meeting there will be an open election for many positions.

March 18th, there will be a basic rights workshop held.

Misc.

Website is the process of being worked on and updated.

We have many open PAC positions for next year these include SUM-It, newsletter and co-chair.
